porcelainheart- I went into this album with absolutely no prior exposure to synthwave, with the only musician I know of being Perturbator. But I finished this release pleasantly surprised. This creates the perfect atmosphere for a Bladerunner spinoff. Cyberpunk synthwavy goodness. FFO Perturbator. Favorite track: NYC Black Metal Apocalypse.

mickyjingles What an All-Star album of auditory delights. Vibrant, all-encompassing sounds from some mastercraft musicians. Beautiful. Favorite track: The Power Of The Purple Flame.

dondonat Sometimes you find a album, so good that it literally leaves you speechless. And this is it. I don't remember any other album that made me appreciate the music I was listening to more than this one. Not as a piece of entertainment, but as piece of art. So many genres are combined here, many of whom I probably haven't heard a single album of, so much variety within the album but also withing songs, so much emotion, so much craftsmanship...
Without a doubt one of the best Synthwave albums so far. Favorite track: Memento Mori.
FLESH MECHANIC
FLESH MECHANIC thumbnail
FLESH MECHANIC Every artist eventually releases his magnum opus at one point in his career, and I think POTPF might be it for Venator. This is not only a showcase of how synthwave, trip hop and metal can work together, but also a great example of fun and interesting songwriting that leaves no room for any fillers. It is a fresh take on street level cyberpunk music without using gimmicks that we all heard a thousand times at this point. This is the album you want to have in your collection. Favorite track: Beneath/Ensnared.
SYNTHAGEDDON
SYNTHAGEDDON thumbnail
SYNTHAGEDDON Venator #5507 continues to add depth, variety and complexity to his continuing saga.

Cybertheism and Victor's Descent just get better each time you listen to them, and it's no different with PotPF.

This LP is packed with even more barnstorming tracks than previous releases, but still paints a rich tapestry of styles, genres and moods across the whole album, with each individual track offering complex and engaging arrangements.

Venator is the soundscape maestro for the synthwave generation! Favorite track: Memento Mori.

I hope you’re doing fine And not going through hell In my mind, you glow and shine But grinning wickedly as well These months have been long My battles have raged long But the silence is dark And my vanity still bears your mark 'Cause it wasn’t how you acted And what you said to me Or maybe, yeah it was, I barely remember anyway Cause I tried to move on Our times sink back in my brain I wish you all the best, but know My scars still remain Every step you took was one towards the end Making sure you’d never win I was locked inside your fortress, locked inside your heart I guess that was my first sin You gave me your light And I gave you mine But when hell broke loose I had no time ‘Cause I saw the horns Emerging from your head, head, head And the skin around your knuckles Was red, red, red The stranger in the mirror stares back hard He tells me what to think and where to go and what to hide and what to show And he’s there because of you His spirit has a lot to say to you And since he’s known you this long It’s clear, the same demons haunt him too The same demons haunt me too And if I knew who I was I’d fucking hate you ‘Cause I saw the horns Emerging from your head, head, head And the skin around your knuckles Was red, red, red (x2)

Everything I said, I meant it, to the bone I swear on myself and everything I own You wretch, you parasitic cancer of the earth Or a good, yet deceptive friend, for what it’s worth You split my fucking soul in half and left it on the ground And now I’m stuck to this earth and stuck to this sound And sometimes I wonder what would happen to us Just two lost souls sacrificed to distrust And when I finally die and my demons make me pay Or when the branch snaps and I finally go insane I’m sure that you’ll hold my carcass like we used to be But make damn sure you tell them everything they didn’t see And whatever’s left of me inside of you Hold it dearly, hold it proud, like I expect of you Because I’m gone forever, I’m an empty cage Just a husk of humanity, waiting for life to change I’m lying dead down in the snow tonight Something that I’ve done, was it so right? Why try and stop your fate when it is here? My deed is done and now my mind is clear

about

It is April of 2078. Victor Moore has been dead for five years, as far as the people of NYC are concerned. However, while a brutal crime syndicate known as the Blackbloods rule over the boroughs, Victor has been training deep in the forests of Sendai with two masters of Cybertheism, who had sensed a great deal of power within him. Sensing that the city suffers, Victor returns, arriving during the peak of the Blackbloods’ reign, with hundreds upon hundreds of faceless goons walking the streets and enforcing oppression. He also discovers the remainder of his team of Argonauts during the Juggernaut Crisis are either dead or missing. To even have a chance at standing up against the empire, Victor must pick up the pieces of what’s left and create a new team of Argonauts that can defeat the Blackbloods, headed by Lionel MacTavish, a fellow survivor of Project V.
